miss you

i painted & wrote these a while ago. i just haven't posted it yet. the plan was to do it on my brothers birthday, the 17th of December, but i couldn't. so here it is now.

your mathematical philosophical mind
your race car driver heart
your soft woolly sweater comfort
your goofy love for life grin
your never ending patience fueled by love
your enthusiasm contagious
*
you spread inspiration like fRagrant fLower seeds
“go for it.” “don’t be scared.” “i believe in you.”
*
you
you
yOu
*
brotherfloweR pluCked form my garden
*
i’m going to miss everything about you…

here's what we did do. i asked a family member to buy my sister in law a rose bush to enjoy on her patio in honor of my brother. the rose is YELLOW and carries my brothers name. she in turn asked me to donate the cost of the rose & pot to charity here and we bought a bunch of toys and donated it to a local christmas toy drive...turning a sad day into a celebration of BEAUTY and JOY.

How sad when a sibling is plucked from life still in the bloom of youth. He looks so young in the image. I can only imagine your sorrow. I am here if you need to lean on someone for comfort in your loss. Yet it seems you are finding ways to cope through giving. I love that giving to charity idea. You are so strong my friend.

Love,
John
